COVID-19 Update

MCPC is open and our kids are coming 5 days a week!
We have made a lot of changes in the past couple of years due to COVID-19. Our main focuses have been on maximizing our time outdoors, increased hand washing and sanitation of common equipment, and mask-wearing when appropriate.
MASKING & HANDWASHING: As of Spring 2022, adults and children in our Preschool program no longer wear masks while they are outdoors but are required to wear masks when in indoor spaces. We help our youngest children do the best they can.
A majority of the time at preschool children are self-led in deciding whether they wish to participate in an indoor or outdoor activity. Many of our group circle time activities are also held outdoors or in ventilated spaces. Children are required to wash their hands at a minimum when they enter school, before and after eating their snack and we have increased sanitation of common equipment.
Adults and children in our Toddler Playtime program are not required to wear masks and we have shifted our program to take place entirely outdoors. Children under 2 are asked to not mask in following CDC guidelines.
SAFETY COMMITTEE: A Safety Committee consisting of voluntary families holds meetings in order to gauge the Covid and Air Quality safety concerns and come up with implementable solutions for the school. We make accommodations as needed and value the voices of our families in making safety related changes within our school.
HEALTHCARE GUIDELINES: MCPC has been carefully following all of the guidelines put out by the CDC, the California Governor’s office and the Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD). Our director has communicated directly with ACPHD when any questions have come up and we continue to adapt our policies and our internal Social Agreement for families and staff as guidelines change.
