Summer Camps
preschool camp
MCPC operates as a parent cooperative during the school year, but opens its doors to the children of the community for its annual Summer Camp. A maximum of 30 children, ages 3½ to 5½ years, may enroll in each session. Priority is given to current preschoolers, and previous outside care experience is required.
We offer three, 2-week sessions that meet Monday through Thursday 9am–12:30pm. One parent per family is asked to spend one day during the summer session assisting our summer program teachers as a working parent.
Optional extended days are offered Monday through Thursday 12:30–3pm, sold as a package for each 2-week session.
Session dates as follows:
session1: 6/16 - 6/26 (6/19 is a holiday)
session 2: 6/30 - 7/10
session 3: 7/14 - 7/24
Please follow the attached links to sign up for PSC. Please note, for Extended Day Camp, Extended Day can only be enrolled in if morning PSC is enrolled.

Some FAQs and Answers:
Q: How do you buy a camp day(s) from another family?
A: You can arrange it and notify the marketing chair that you’ll be splitting (including which days which kids will be attending). Alternatively, you can reach out for a full list of families needing trades/spots and negotiate trades and purchases from other families.
Q: Do I sign up for extended day the same way as during the regular school year?
A: You will have the option to sign up for extended day via Be a Kid, when you register for camp.
Q: If my child is going to Kindergarten next year, can they still attend preschool summer camp this summer?
A: Yes, we welcome children going on to new beginnings to join us for summer camp.
Q: Is there financial aid available?
A: At this time, we do not have financial aid available for summer camp.
Q: What does the parent involvement look like for the summer program? How often do you have to work, what do you do on your working parent shift?
A: For preschool summer camp, we aim to have each parent take one shift throughout the summer, but if the camp is full for all 6 weeks, there might be the need for additional shift coverage. Your shift will consist of XYZ
Most often the shift will be snack parent, providing snack for the 25 enrolled campers. Or if needed, a front-yard parent. One shift per child. (It would be pretty rare that someone would need to do a second shift — we’d have to be full with the same kids for all 6 weeks.).
** PLEASE For turtle summer camp, you will be assigned one of the six weeks as a working day, which will give you a peak inside what’s to come during the school year. The teachers will instruct you and provide activities for each space, similar to our typical preschool programming.
Q: How do shift trades work?
A: We encourage families to sign up for two weeks at a time. If you know you’ll be out of town or unavailable for one of the weeks, you can trade with another family in advance and notify the marketing chair. In addition, we will help facilitate trades as much as possible for families that want partial weeks.
turtle camp
Turtle Camp enrollment is primarily for incoming MCPC preschoolers, however space becomes available to non-MCPC children in the Spring. It is geared for children aged 2¾ to 3¾ years.
This is a great opportunity for your child to make the transition to a “drop off” program. One parent per family will volunteer to work and bring snack one day during the summer session to help keep a very low student to teacher ratio.
A maximum of 14 children may enroll. Your child must turn three by September 1 of this year in order to be eligible for the Turtle Summer Camp. We offer one 6-week session that meets on Fridays only from 9-11:45am. Registration opens to the public in April. For questions, contact marketing@mcpckids.org.
